Cliffs of the Neuse

A sunny day with a seventy-percent chance it would stay that way, so we traveled to Cliffs of the Neuse State Park (click here to read my original post on this NC destination) where we once again hiked the moderate Spanish Moss Trail. Eastern North Carolina is just waking from her dormancy, so we found only violets and an abundance of Carolina Jasmine in bloom.

And a tree putting on a spring show:

At the time of this writing, the lake was closed for swimming. For information on seasons and times, call the park office or check the website at www.ncparks.gov
