Green Swamp

Do you know the difference between a savanna and a pocosin? Both habitats can be clearly seen in the photos:

Beautiful pictures, as always, Kimberli!!!!

I also love your "Today in Carolina History." I love Billy Graham! Not only is he a wonderful man of God, but he reminds me SO much of my grandmother's side of the family. That beautiful voice that rolls so soft like the hills where she was raised (not too far from him). And I think Grandma was the one who coined the saying, "Jesus said it. I believe it. That settles it." Well, maybe she didn't coin the saying, but she sure said it a lot. I miss her so much. She died a few years ago at 103 years young.

I was also ready to get in the car today and drive to NC to crash Rev. Graham's birthday party. I heard on the radio they were serving Barbeque, cole slaw, hush puppies, and SWEET tea. Yes!

I'm still thinking about food:)

But seriously, the flowers on the webshots are amazing. Did you take those pictures?

You forgot the sweet potato pie! :o)

I'm glad you enjoyed the photos. Yes, we took those and every photo you see on this site (except Google Map satellie photos, of course) including the banner. We're not professionals, but we love taking pictures.

And Green Swamp is a great place to take them. More on that in my next report.

I forgot to mention...the another Carolina author is responsible for the Today in Carolina History widget. Jennifer Hudson Taylor created that, and it feeds from her blog site. Neat huh? But not as neat as that birthday bash was, I'm sure. They showed a bit of it on the news last night. Looked fun, though I'm sure he misses his wife.

I often attend a writers conference in Ridgecrest, located, as you know, on the other side of the mountain from Montreat.

I just can't get over the beauty in these pictures. I fail miserably as a photographer. So I'm always impressed when I see the beautiful pics here. Thanks for the info. about the feed. I'll have to check out Jennifer's site. Have a beautiful day!
